Simi dedicates third album, Omo Charlie Champagne, to late dad

Singer and songwriter, Simi, has revealed that she is dedicating her third album, Omo Charlie Champagne, to her late dad, Charles Ogunleye, who died in 2014.

The singer who coincidentally turns 31 today disclosed this in Instagram post on Friday.

“When I was compiling this album, I knew I wanted to dedicate it to my daddy, Engr. Charles Oladele Ogunleye – who passed in 2014. I’m blessed to have come this far. I’m blessed that it was possible for me. I do not take this for granted.

“I couldn’t possibly be more thankful for this journey. To have amazing people like you supporting me everyday is absolute Magic! I love you.

“#OmoCharlieChampgne is OUT NOW!!!! Yessss! I’m thankful to all the amazing people that made this possible,” she wrote in parts.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Simi advised her fans not to ‘overthink’ her next album while listening to it.

She also added that that she had begun work on her next music project.

The X3M artiste released her first studio album ‘Ogaju’ in 2008. She followed it with ‘Simisola’ in 2017.

The 12-track album enjoyed mainstream success which made it the first album to hit the one million-mark on streaming platform, Boomplay.
