Shina Peters alerts police as hackers defraud WhatsApp contacts

Juju singer Shina Peters has filed a police report after scammers hacked his WhatsApp account and defrauded his contacts.

A close source first alerted QEDNG about the hack on Friday and warned against obliging any monetary request from the number.

Red Alert Afro Juju star, Sir Shina Peters’ MTN line have (sic) been cloned by men of the underworld. Kindly ignore any monetary request from them, such messages did not emanate from him. “Pls be warned,” the source said.

Shina Peters also raised an alarm on his Facebook page alerting the public of the current situation.

“Please my WhatsApp has been hacked, please don’t accept any messages from my MTN line,” the 65-year-old wrote.

In another post, the musician added, “I am making a police report already. Do not send money to anyone from my WhatsApp o.”

A few hours later, the musician shared a copy of a police report on Facebook.

In the affidavit issued by the High Court of Lagos in the Ikeja division, Shina said his number had already been used to defraud his WhatsApp contacts and money had been sent to two different Palmpay accounts and a Wema Bank account.
