Saraki’s wife visits cousin Oba Oniru over mum’s death

Toyin Saraki, wife of the former Senate President Bukola Saraki, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to her cousin the Oniru of Iru land, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, over the death of his mother Muinat Lawal-Akapo.

The matriarch of the family died on Wednesday morning in Lagos at the age of 85.

Mrs Saraki visited the monarch and his family to commiserate with them.

She said in a post on Instagram that she “prayed that the blessings and mercy of their Lord will be upon the good people of Iru Land, who mourn the passage of a Queen-Mother, a Princess of their land, and His Royal Majesty The Ojora of Ijora, Oba Fatai Oyeyinka Aromire, Oyegbemi II, and the rightly guided good people of the Ijora Kingdom and Iganmu Lands, who mourn a Queen, a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.”

Mrs Saraki added, “May the gentle soul of our dear wife, Olori Muinat Lawal-Akapo of Ijora Kingdom, née Omo-Oba Muinat Ajasa, the dearly beloved Iyaoba of Abisogun II, rest in peace. Amen.”
