Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Maryam Lawal, an alumna of Lagos State University (LASU), for her outstanding performance at the Nigerian Law School.
In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed pride in her accomplishment, describing it as a source of joy for Lagos and a testament to the quality of education at LASU.
“Maryam is a proud alumna of Lagos State University and a fellow Lagosian. She graduated from LASU’s Faculty of Law, and seeing her emerge as one of the top students in the country is a moment of great pride for all of us,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu praised Lawal’s brilliance, hard work and quiet determination, noting that her success is “a powerful reminder of what’s possible when talent meets discipline.”
“I’m especially pleased because her journey began here in Lagos, in a state-owned institution that continues to nurture future leaders,” he added.
He concluded with an encouraging note, “Congratulations, Maryam. You’ve set the bar high, and I know you’re just getting started.”
Miss Lawal was named the Best Graduating Female Student and the Second Overall Best Student nationwide.
She also received eight awards, including one for Corporate Law Practice.
Lawal’s achievement adds to the growing list of high-performing graduates from LASU, reinforcing its reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading public universities.
