Samuel Chukwueze’s mum prays holding his legs ahead AFCON

Super Eagles’ forward Samuel Chukwueze received prayer from his mother just before heading for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) billed to hold in Cameroon.

In a viral video, his mother is seen holding onto his legs and praying in Igbo.

Then she says in English, “Let him be the Joshua that will lead his people to the Promised Land.”

Chukwueze arrived at the Eagles camp in Abuja on Wednesday before the team departed for Cameroon.

The video of Chukuweze and his mom involved in prayer has become the darling of many sports lovers.

The Villarreal player will be hoping to carry his fine form to the tournament which begins on January 9.

The 22-year-old was one of the bright spots at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt and will be expected to play a pivotal role for Austin Eguavoen’s team.

Nigeria play Egypt in her first group game on January 11.
