Sammie Okposo’s death hit me really hard – Nathaniel Bassey

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has reacted to the shocking death of his colleague Sammie Okposo who died at age 51.

Sammie slumped on Friday morning and was rushed to a hospital in Lekki where he was confirmed dead.

Mourning the decease in an Instagram post on Friday, Nathaniel stated that Sammie’s death hit him really hard as he is still dazed over the socking demise of the ‘Welu Welu’ singer

He wrote: “News of Our Brother’s passing, Minister Sammy Okposo, hit me really hard this morning. Still dazed. Pray God’s comfort and strength for the immediate family, friends and colleagues.”

Other gospel singers like Tope Alabi, Frank Edwards, Adeyinka Alaseyori and Time Godfrey have also reacted to their colleague’s death.

“Rest in the bosom of the lord,” Tope wrote on Instagram.

“What did I just hear? Uncle Sammie,” a sad Frank wrote on the same platform.

“It is well,” Adeyinka added with the image of a burning candle.

Tim posted a broken heart emoji on Instagram with the caption: “Jesus.”

A few days before his shocking death, Sammie shared a message on his Instagram account where he talked about how he almost let go but God’s grace kept him.

He wrote: “I almost let go, you wouldn’t let me go. Devil thought he had me but God’s grace kept me. God’s grace kept me and will continue to keep me. What the enemy meant for evil, God blocked it.”

Sammie and his wife Ozioma celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on July 1.
