Saint Obi and I met by divine arrangement — Widow

Saint Obi

Linda Nwafor, wife of the late actor Obinna Nwafor aka Saint Obi, has said that her meeting with the movie star was divinely orchestrated.

Saint Obi died in Plateau State on May 8, 2023 at the age of 57 after battling a protracted ailment. He was buried on August 18 in his hometown Umuezealaeze, Alaenyi Ogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Imo State.

In videos posted by the publisher of Yes! Magazine Azuh Arinze, Linda said at the burial that it was difficult for her to accept that her children would have no father anymore.

She said, “I believe our (she and Saint Obi) meeting was divinely orchestrated. You were highly domesticated. I miss you. I still don’t know how to feel. This should not have happened. It is very difficult to accept that you are gone, that my children will no longer have a father, and I will not hold your hulky frame again. My children and I pray for you daily. Your death has left us despondent. Losing you to the cold hands of death is my deepest sorrow. Nothing can heal the pain inside. I love you and always have.”

Describing him as an ‘amazing actor who brought smiles to the faces of people’, he said, “Thank you for teaching me the way of life. I know you are watching over me. I have been forced to grow up into leadership. I will lead, dad. I will protect my mum and siblings, especially from the preying press, as you did while you were here. I will always love you, till we meet again.”

Saint Obi came onto the acting scene in 1996 after doing a commercial for Peugeot on NTA and went on to feature in more than 100 movies.
