Rotimi Amaechi

Former minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi has graduated with a second class upper division degree in law from Baze University, Abuja.

Amaechi was among 504 students who graduated from the school in various fields of study.

The graduation ceremony was held on Saturday. It was only the university’s ninth convocation ceremony.

Sharing photos from his graduation ceremony, the former minister tweeted, “Convocation. Certified graduate of Law.”

Amaechi, in a statement issued by his media office on Saturday in Abuja, was admitted to the bachelor of law degree programme when serving as a minister.

According to the statement, Amaechi, in spite of his tight schedules, combined the rigours of academic studies and his official work and achieved the remarkable grade.

It said the former minister, in his numerous inspections of projects under the ministry, was seen reading books in between his engagements with the contractors and workers on sites.

Activist Deji Adeyanju graduated with a first class degree in law.

Senator Dino Melaye graduated with a law degree from the same university last year.

Baze University is owned by the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party Datti Baba-Ahmed.
