Rivers’ second coronavirus patient recovers

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has announced the recovery of the state’s second coronavirus (COVID-19) patient.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Mr Wike said the patient would be discharged same day.

He said: “The second case which was recorded and taken to the treatment centre has now tested negative and will be discharged this morning, thanks to God for His mercy.”

The governor commended health officials and security operatives for the success in containing the coronavirus pandemic in the state.

The state now has no active COVID-19 case.
