Actress Rita Edochie has expressed grief over the death of TikToker Chinelo Muomah, popularly known as Bigbutfitneylo.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the 61-year-old shared a memorial poster, which reads, “Forever in our Hearts. Our beloved Chinelo Vivian Muomah,” alongside a tribute noting Muomah’s energy, strength and passion for dance.
In her caption, she said she was initially hoping the news of Chinelo’s death was false.
According to her, she expected the TikToker to debunk it as an expensive rumour until she saw a funeral poster on Chinelo’s page.
“My heart sank, my hands went cold, and suddenly the world around me felt heavy,” she wrote, reflecting on how the confirmation of the news affected her.
Rita said death often takes people away too soon, leaving behind only memories.
She described Chinelo as someone whose kindness, strength and joy will be remembered.
The actress then turned her focus to those who body-shamed the late TikToker, saying their actions contributed to her insecurities.
She alleged that the criticism pushed Chinelo into surgery, which eventually led to her death.
“To those who constantly body-shamed her, pointing at her tummy and mocking her imperfections… well done. You planted the insecurities, you pushed her into a corner, and in the end, she went in for a surgery she never returned from,” she wrote.
Rita accused social media users of turning online platforms into tools of mockery rather than safe spaces for expression.
According to her, many people use social media to seek joy and relief from struggles, but instead are met with judgement and harsh words.
“She was more than her body. She was light, she was love, she was human. And now, all we have left is her memory,” she added.
Rita Edochie concluded by praying for God to comfort Chinelo’s family and give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Chinelo Muomah, aka Bigbutfitneylo, was a TikToker known for her dance videos and vibrant social media presence.
Reports indicate she had been battling a hernia and sadly died before she could undergo the necessary operation.
