Retired wrestler, Power Uti, arrested over wife’s death

Nigerian wrestling champion, Power Uti, has reportedly been arrested by the Police over the death of his wife, Toyin, at their Ilupeju home in Lagos.

It was gathered that Toyin was found in a critical state of health but instead of taking her to the hospital, the wrestler sort spiritual help in the church.

Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed Uti’s arrest and detention at the Ilupeju Police Station, adding that he could be transferred to the Criminal Investigative Department, Panti in Lagos on Thursday.

Until her demise on Monday, Toyin, 38, was a mother of four children who are under the ages of nine.

She was married to the retired wrestler for 10 years.

Her body has been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital, while her four children are with her mother.

Uti is one Nigeria’s biggest wrestling ambassadors, ruling the rings at home and abroad for about 20 years before finding himself in missionary work.

He is now known as Reverend John Eke Uti and has his own ministry he named Great Power Uti Worldwide Evangelism.
