Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has expressed his disappointment following Theo Walcott’s exit to Everton.

Walcott, 28, on Wednesday, departed to the Merseyside club for around £20 million after 12 years at the Emirates.

Wenger, who brought in the Englishman as a 16-year-old from Southampton, is utterly saddened by his exit.

“I am very attached to Theo because he is intelligent, has integrity, total focus on his job,” the Frenchman said in Thursday’s press conference.

“I remember he arrived here at 16 and went to the World Cup straight away. He scored important goals [for Arsenal] in big games, in finals.

“I regret what happened but he didn’t play enough recently but I thank him and he is always welcome here.”

Walcott could make his Everton debut on Saturday against West Brom.

Before returning to the Emirates with his new team early February.
