Nollywood actress Rita Daniels has been elected national women leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

The mother of actress Regina Daniels was elected alongside 18 others in Enugu on August 5.

Rita posted a video of herself on a plane to Turkey on Saturday for vacation after what she called “hectic election”.

“Here comes the new National Women Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide,” the caption of her post read in part.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General Prof. George Obiozor described Rita’s election as “timely and will add impetus to the efforts and serious contributions towards providing solutions to the various critical problems facing the nation in general and Igboland in particular.”

Prof Obiozor, according to a statement signed by the organisation’s spokesperson Chiedozie Ogbonnia, urged the newly elected officers to imbibe the fear of God in the discharge of their duties.
