Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister Nyesom Wike has once again drawn reactions online after entertaining guests with his signature dance moves at the commissioning of a project in Abuja on Friday.
Wike, who was dressed in a black suit and hat, was captured dancing joyfully to live music during the event. The minister moved rhythmically to the beat as dignitaries and supporters cheered him on.
The video of the moment quickly made its way to social media, sparking reactions from Nigerians who commended his energy and performance as FCT minister.
A user wrote, “Give it to him though am not his fan, he’s doing marvelously well in Abuja and that’s a lot 🔥.”
Another commented, “The best FCT minister ever in the history of Nigeria 🇳🇬.”
One added, “This guy is just living his best life.”
Another joked, “Wike is Nigeria Next of kin 😂😂😂.”
One said, “I don’t like this man but I must commend him he has been working since first day at office.”
This is not the first time the former Rivers State governor has thrilled guests with his dancing. Known for his lively personality, Wike regularly danced at public functions during his time as governor, especially while inaugurating projects.
In December 2023, a video also showed him singing “Jagaban, on your mandate we shall stand,” while dancing in the office of the president’s chief of staff in apparent support for President Bola Tinubu.
Wike, who governed Rivers State from 2015 to 2023, was appointed FCT minister in August 2023. Since then, he has overseen several infrastructure and road projects across the capital, earning both praise and criticism.
He is married to Eberechi Wike, a judge of the Rivers State High Court. They have children together.
Despite political controversies and his rift with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike continues to balance governance with moments of public showmanship, endearing him to many across party lines.
