Rapper Bouqui bags PhD from US university

Rapper, Bukola Folayan, better known as Bouqui has bagged a Ph.D. from the Heart International University, USA, years after getting her green card.

The gospel musician announced this in a recent Instagram post, bragging about being the first Nigerian female rapper with a Ph.D.

In her message on Instagram, Bouqui noted that she got the green card on her mum’s 80th birthday on May 28, adding that even though she missed the celebration, it was for a good reason.

She wrote: “Dr. BOUQUI. I’m missing my my mom’s 80th birthday….All my siblings and cousins are already in Nigeria but I guess this is a good enough reason to miss it.

“I got my green card on her bday and now I’m bagging my PhD, almost a decade after, also on her birthday. “May” 28th. “May”be I’ll get married in Mmmind ya biznezz… We kept it from her and this morning, my brother said,“Mom, We have a surprise for you, Bouqui is a doctor, she is getting her PhD today”….and she cried.”

The rapper also posted photos of herself and comedian Helen Paul who was appointed as the HOD of the school’s department of arts, music and entertainment, and senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi.

Fellow celebrities like Richard Moje Damijo (RMD) Stella Damasus, Tony Tetuila, Joseph Benjamin, Sotayo Ogaga and Princess congratulated her in the comment section of the post.
