Rangers FC spokesperson robbed in Enugu

Media Officer of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Norbert Okolie, has been robbed of N457,000 on Friday in Enugu by hoodlums.

Mr Okolie told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the hoodlums broke into his parked car to dispossess him of cash and relevant working tools which he left in a bag in the car.

Okolie said the bag contains a laptop, external hard drives of various brands and capacity, professional digital camera and other sensitive documents.

It also contains various associations’ identity cards, ATM cards, voter’s card, international passport, national identity card, books, and other personal items.

Okolie, who is also a correspondent of the state-owned newspaper, Daily Star, said that the incident happened around the Enugu Correctional Service Centre (Nigeria Prisons), along Old Park Road, Enugu.

“This is a shocking experience and I never knew that people still go about with master keys to commit this kind of crime in broad daylight.

“All my works of the past 15 years gone in one moment and it is a big blow to me and Rangers family,” he lamented.

The incident, he said, has been reported to the police.

Okolie called on any person who comes across the items to return it to the nearest police station.
