Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau has called on the authorities to protect women against violence.

The 26-year-old said this in an Instagram post while recounting how the year had been so far.

She said the insecurity we face in Nigeria is uncalled for and should be addressed.

Rahama called on the United Nations, United Nations Women, United Nations Population Fund and United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency to intervene in the increasing number of violence against women and put an end to insecurity in Nigeria.

“It’s December … My birth month,🎊 as well the last month of the year,” she wrote on Tuesday.

“I call on relevant authorities to respond and protect us against the increasing number of violence against women and put an END to insecurity in Nigeria @un @unwomen @unfpa @unfpanigeria.”

Rahama came under backlash after posting backless dress pictures on November 1.

She deleted the pictures and apologized.

Rahama acting credits include Up North, Shuga, Zero Hour and Adam.
