An online media organisation Premium Times has suffered a hack on its Twitter handle @PremiumTimesng.

The handle was hacked on Friday evening. Following the incident, the operators shared crypto-related content.

The management of Premium Times in a statement noted that the hackers changed the login details of the account.

The statement said, “At about 4:52 p.m. Nigerian time on Friday, Premium Times Twitter account (@PremiumTimesng) was hacked. The hackers have since posted unsavoury Tweets on the account and have changed the login details, even with 2FA enabled.”

“We urge our readers and the public to discountenance any tweet from the account for now and apologise for any inconveniences caused,” it added, saying it had formally contacted Twitter to recover the account.

However, on Saturday morning, the news platform confirmed it now has full control of the account.

“Special Announcement: This is to inform our esteemed readers that we have regained control of our Twitter account which was hacked a few hours ago. We are now in full control of our @premiumtimesng. We thank you all for your support and patronage,” the media organisation said.
