allegedly raped by a soldier attached to the Oyo State Government Security outfit “Operation Burst” for five hours will recount her ordeal at a press conference on Monday, September 8, 2014.

A statement issued by her lawyer, Ola Adeosun, says “the essence of this press conference is to give the details of what transpired on the said days, and to galvanize all well-meaning persons in our society to join the war against rape and all other forms of violence against the girl child and women in general.”

The Press Conference is scheduled to hold at the office of OLA ADEOSUN & CO in the Mokola area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Oludare Ogunlana, had earlier petitioned First Lady, Patience Jonathan, and acting Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, over the matter.

According to Ogunlana, the alleged crime was committed within the premises of the security outfit located beside Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office on Local Government Secretariat Road in Eruwa area of the state.

He lamented that the young lady had been left to her fate despite the overwhelming evidence and oral confession of the rapist soldier.

“The randy soldier assaulted the lady, detained, molested, harassed, threatened her life to instill fear, and raped her mercilessly under the mango tree in the vicinity of the ‘Operation Burst’ office from 10.00 pm. to 3.00am on Saturday 30th August, 2014.” he said.

The NANS former president, who alleged an attempt to silence the victim and deny her justice, wants the urgent intervention of Mrs. Jonathan and Police authorities.
