The Lagos State Police Command says it has launched an investigation into the kidnap of the Baale of Shangisha, Yusuf Ogundare, which occurred on Wednesday.

Spokesperson, of the command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, disclosed this in a statement made available to Qed.ng on Thursday morning.

The traditional ruler’s brother, Mohammed Adams, in his account, said Ogundare was invited to CMD Guest House over the phone by some men claiming that they wanted to buy piece of land.

Adams stated that he and his brother were taking the men for inspection of the land inside the buyer’s car with unknown registration number when they discovered that they were armed.

Subsequently, the hoodlums did a diversion, and on getting to Domino’s Pizza Junction, along the CMD Road, Shangisha, he was dropped by the roadside while his brother was taken away to an unknown destination.

Adams said he subsequently reported the matter at the police station.

Confirming that the police have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers, Famous-Cole called on members of the public to come forward with any intelligent information that may lead to the baale’s rescue and the arrest of his abductors.
