Police have detained the son of Hayatu Tafida the special adviser to Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal on social investment.

Baffa Tafida is being held for the circulation of a video in which he had sexual knowledge of a minor in 2017.

Sokoto police spokesman Abubakar Sadiq said Baffa was being “detained for further investigation.”

Baffa was alleged to have lured the victim to a hotel, drugged her and recorded himself having sexual knowledge of her.

It was learnt that he released the video in 2020 after the young woman’s bride price had been paid and a time fixed for her marriage.

He also sent the video to the victim’s husband-to-be.

Baffa was first arrested by the Sokoto State Hisbah Commission before the police took over.

Hisbah Commandant Adamu Kasarawa said Baffa and his alleged accomplices were arrested following a complaint by the victim’s mother over the video.
