Police begin manhunt for kidnappers of Samson Siasia’s mother

Police in Bayelsa have begun a manhunt for the kidnappers of 76-year-old Beauty Siasia, mother of former Super Eagles player and coach, Samson Siasia.

Bayelsa police spokesman, Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Monday said the police commissioner and the command’s tactical team had visited the scene of the crime.

The incident becomes the second time Mrs Siasia would be kidnapped after suffering similar fate in November 2015. She was released 12 days later.

The septuagenarian was taken away by armed men around 2:00 am Monday from her home in the riverine Odoni community in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.

“The command in collaboration with other security stakeholders have launched manhunt to apprehend the criminals and rescue the victim. Investigation is ongoing,” the police spokesman said.
