Singer Peter Okoye on Tuesday surprised his twin brother Paul Okoye’s children, Nathan and Nadia, as they marked their eighth birthday with their mum Anita Okoye on a Disney cruise in the Bahamas.
Peter, popularly known as Mr P, showed up unexpectedly and was warmly received by the children who were excited to see their uncle.
A video shared on Instagram captured the moment the children, including their older brother Andre, spotted Peter and ran to embrace him while shouting “Uncle Papa!”
Peter did not just show up empty-handed. He brought gifts for the kids, including bicycles and cash.
His wife Lola Omotayo-Okoye also celebrated the children with a heartfelt post on Instagram. She wrote:
“My dearest Nathan & Nadia, here is wishing you both a day filled with double the fun, double the laughter, and double the cake! You’re growing up so fast and becoming more awesome every year.
“We’re so lucky to have you in our lives. Keep shining bright and being your wonderful selves! May the good Lord continue to bless and protect you. Happy 8th Birthday. Have the most magical birthday ever!”
Fans flooded the comment section of the video with praise for Peter.
One Instagram user wrote:
“Peter is the good twin, no doubt. He always tries to show up for Paul’s kids despite their differences. I’m yet to see when Paul did the same for Peter’s kids.”
Another commenter added:
“Before u all come for him, he has always been like that when it comes to his twin’s kids. He loves his twin bro. Juse is the problem.”
Another also prayed for the children, writing:
“Nothing concern the children with papa & uncle beef ✋ happy blessed birthday umuoma.”
The children’s mother Anita also marked the day with a post on Instagram, writing:
“Golden Year Magic for my Golden Twins! Nathan and Nadia are 8. Thankful. Blessed. Grateful.”
Paul and Anita got married in 2014 and welcomed their twins in 2017. Their marriage ended in 2022 after Anita filed for divorce on grounds of infidelity and separation. She was awarded custody of the children and a $20,000 monthly settlement.
Peter and Paul Okoye rose to fame in the early 2000s as the music duo Psquare. They split in 2017 and only reunited briefly in 2021. While their relationship remains strained, Peter’s visit to his brother’s children is seen by many as a sign of maturity and love that transcends family differences.
