Peter Obi, Amaechi, others attend outing service for Eniola Bello’s wife

Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23 election, Peter Obi, and former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, were among guests at the outing service for late Olufunke Eniola-Olaitan in Lagos on Sunday.

Olufunke, wife of the managing director of ThisDay newspaper, Eniola Bello, died in London of breast cancer on June 3.

Also at the service were family members, well-wishers and the national spokesman of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan.

President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Funke Egbemode, and the immediate past Secretary to Government of Lagos State, Tunji Bello, were at the service.

An ex-spokesman of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati, also attended the service.

Mrs Bello died at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, United Kingdom after a three-year battle with breast cancer.

She was a graduate of Business Administration from Kwara State Polytechnic. She also read Management at Lagos State University.

Eniola-Olaitan, a banker, businesswoman, and distance-learning tutor with The Skills Network, UK, died at the age of 49.

She would have clocked 50 on August 4.

She is survived by her husband, four children, an aged mother, brothers and sisters.
