Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has turned himself in to the police after a video showing him pointing a gun-like object at another motorist went viral on social media.
Police spokesman in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a post on X on Tuesday.
“”No one is above the law!
“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced investigation on the case since a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user, while driving in an unregistered vehicle.
“The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” he wrote.
The video, which sparked outrage online days ago, showed the pastor engaging in a road altercation while holding what appeared to look like firearm.
The vehicle he was driving was also seen without a number plate.
As of press time, House on the Rock Church is yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
Adefarasin, one of Nigeria’s leading Pentecostal pastors, founded House on the Rock in 1994.
The church has grown into one of the most influential congregations in the country.
