Parents protest death of Lagos pupils crushed by truck

Parents of some students of Babs Fafunwa Millennium Secondary School on Wednesday protested against the death of some pupils who were crushed by a truck.

A truck driver had run some pupils over on Tuesday at Grammar School Bus Stop, Ogunnusi Road, along Ogba-Ojodu/Berger axis.

The pupils were on their way home after school.

About 10 pupils were reported to have been killed, though the police confirmed only two dead.

The driver was arrested by the police after attempting to flee.

Some parents stormed Babs Fafunwa Millennium Secondary School on Wednesday, saying the school should not have opened in honour of the deceased pupils.

Commissioner for education Folashade Adefisayo addressed them in a bid to calm the tense situation. She said the safety of the pupils was paramount.

The pupils were eventually allowed to go home.
