Oyo Police Arrest 16 Hoodlums During Elections

Elecion-suspects-300x225No fewer than 16 suspected political thugs were arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, during the last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
State police spokesman Muhammed Musa Katsina told newsmen at the police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, that the hoodlums were arrested at the notorious Mapo area in the state capital.
He said the hoodlums, who called themselves ‘one million boys’ were arrested in connection with the just concluded election in the state.
One of the suspects, Patrick John, said some of the gang members lived in his house.
According to him, the peaceful climate was temporarily distorted by the activities of drunken cult group in Mapo area.
He explained that the group, while armed with dangerous weapons, descended and inflicted injuries on some innocent people, some of who were on admission in some hospitals.
He said the pandemonium attracted the attention of police special force  which engaged the hoodlums, leading to the arrest of 16 members of the gang and recovery of some deadly weapons.
