Otedola offers to pay for actor Victor Olaotan’s medical treatment

Femi Otedola

Forte Oil chairman Femi Otedola has pledged to cover the entire expenses of bedridden Nollywood star Victor Olaotan who is seeking medical treatment overseas.

News of Otedola’s involvement was revealed by actor Richard Mofe-Damijo in an Instagram post on Wednesday a day after campaigning for funds to help his Three Wise Men co-star.

“So a few days ago, I reached out to @femiotedola asking for help for my friend and brother and just this morning, Femi calls to tell me he would take care of ALL of Victor’s bills. He told me that he is already on it and that his people are already talking with Victor’s wife,” RMD wrote.

So, a few days ago, I reached out to @femiotedola asking for help for my friend and brother Victor and just this morning, Femi calls to tell me that he would take care of ALL of Victor’s bills. Thank you Femi @femiotedola you are a man and a half and thank you to my young friend @gbenroajibade for championing this cause, they really don’t make them like you anymore, you are such an amazing “child” and I am proud to know you. A GoFundMe account was created by Nollywood actor Gbenro Ajibade on Sunday, December to raise $50,000 for Olaotan’s treatment.

A check by Qed.ng shows that $10,873 had been donated by Wednesday morning.

Filmmaker Mahmood Ali-Balogun told members of a Nollywood WhatsApp group named Film4Life on Monday that Olaotan needed $70000 to get medical help overseas

“Spoke with the wife, $50k for main hospital bill and $20k for necessary sundry support. A total of about $70,000 is required,” Ali-Balogun said.

Victor Olaotan was involved in a ghastly car crash in 2016 along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway which cost him the use of both legs.

The accident pushed the much-loved thespian away from the public sphere with fears that he may have his limbs amputated.

Olaotan is popular for his leading role as Fred Ade Williams in the widely watched soap opera Tinsel.
