Osun hotelier Ramon Adedoyin arrested over OAU student’s death

Police in Osun said on Wednesday that the hotelier Ramon Adedoyin has been arrested over the death of a student studying for a master’s degree at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Timothy Adegoke went missing when he got to OAU distance learning centre, Moro campus to take an examination.

He was reported missing at Edun Abon Police Station, before his case was transferred to the state criminal investigation department for investigation on November 9, 2021, spokesperson for Osun Police Command Yemisi Opalola had said.

In another statement, Opalola said Adedoyin, who is the chairman of Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, was arrested on November 15, 2021.

“He is currently in police detention, undergoing interrogation in connection with the case while awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital,” Opalola said.

Six other suspects had earlier been arrested.

It was learnt that Adegoke had lodged in Hilton Hotel between October 22 and November 5, 2021, before he went missing. His exams were scheduled for November 6 and 7.
