Onyekuru denied British work permit

Nigerian winger, Henry Onyekuru, has been denied a British work permit for the third successive year.

The 22-year-old is thus poised for another loan spell away from his parent club, Everton.

Onyekuru moved to Everton from Belgian outfit, KAS Eupen, in 2017 but has spent the following two seasons on a loan deal at Anderlecht and Galatasaray due to work permit issues.

The denial was given because he has failed to play at least 75 percent of the Super Eagles’ matches over the previous two years.

But Onyekuru has played just six times in the previous 12 months for the Eagles.

Henry wedded his long-term girlfriend, Esty, on Saturday in Benin, Edo State.

Oghenekaro Etebo, Jamilu Collins and John Ogu were some of the Nigerian players in attendance for the ceremony.
