Onnoghen chooses to stand in the dock

The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, on entering the dock on Friday, chose to stand to face allegations of non-declaration of assets.

He chose to remain standing after the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) chairman, Danladi Umar, offered him a seat.

Onnoghen’s counsel, Chris Uche, ‎announced the suspended CJN’s presence.

Onnoghen arrived the court at 9:40am and remained in his vehicle before entering the tribunal as soon as proceedings began.
