Olori Ivie Atuwatse III has announced the start of the Olu of Warri’s fourth coronation anniversary with a week of thanksgiving.

In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, she wrote that the anniversary opened in gratitude, bringing together “our people, and friends and well-wishers from near and far” in praise to honour the king, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

She said the four-year reign testifies to his commitment to their people, preservation of heritage and vision for a future rooted in strength, wisdom and sustainability.

“I have walked beside him in this sacred calling,” she stated, calling it both “my joy and my honour” and expressing daily gratitude for the grace guiding their path.

In conclusion, she offered greetings to her husband, “Happy 4th Coronation Anniversary… Your reign is blessed, your legacy is secure, and your greatness will echo through generations.”

Ogiame Atuwatse III became the 21st Olu of Warri on 21 August 2021, succeeding his uncle, Ogiame Ikenwoli I, after undergoing traditional coronation rites in Ode-Itsekiri.

The Warri Kingdom launched its week-long celebration on Monday, starting with a praise and worship service at the Palace Church in Aghofen, Warri.

The programme includes the commissioning of a hospital in Ugbuwangue, a children’s language competition, a boat regatta, homage at the palace, a book launch, theatrical presentation, presentation of Royal Order of Iwere, a commemorative lecture and a final thanksgiving service at the Palace Church on 24 August.
