Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his family on Friday held a thanksgiving service at the Government House Chapel in Asaba following their recovery from coronavirus.

Mr Okowa said on Twitter that he testified at the thanksgiving about God’s mercies over his loved ones.

“This morning, following the recovery of members of my family and I from #COVID19, we held a family thanksgiving at the Government House Chapel in Asaba, where I testified about God’s mercies over my loved ones,” the governor wrote.

“During these precarious times, as members of my administration and I continue to do everything within our power to keep you and your families safe, I continue to appeal to all citizens and residents of our state to observe the necessary protocols.”

He thanked the public for their prayers during his isolation period, assuring “we will get through this turbulence” together.

Okowa announced on July 14 that he and his wife Edith and daughter had recovered from the disease after nearly two weeks.
