Chidera Onyegbule, daughter of comedian and actor, Okey Bakassi, has won gold medals after winning 100m and 200m races in Canada.

Okey Bakassi, 49, announced the feat via Instagram on Thursday.

“Congratulations to my darling daughter @chideraonyegbule 1st position in both 100m and 200m senior girls. She ran competitive 200m for the first time yesterday and won.❤👏👍,” he wrote.

Okey Bakassi is married to Ezinne and they are blessed with three children, two girls and a boy. His wife and children live in Canada.

In a chat with Punch, Okey admitted that it had not been easy staying away from his family. He said, “The reason I do a tour in Canada is to be close to my wife and kids since they live there. Of course, my family wants me to be with them every day and they always express that. But they also understand that I need to focus on the demands of my job. Do not forget that they come to Nigeria as well; I don’t announce it whenever they visit.”
