Comedian and actor, Okey Bakassi, has slammed entertainers who believe that getting married can make one lose a large number of their fan base, especially of the opposite sex.

In a post to Instagram on Tuesday, the 48-year-old made reference to Jay Z and Beyonce saying their marriage has not in any way affected their fan base negatively.

“Arguably the richest couple in the Music world Jay-Z and Beyonce with a massive fan base. I’ve heard some celebrities say if you marry you lose some of your fans from the opposite sex. I don’t care if it’s true or not. #justdoyou.

“If #marriage is your thing do it if it’s not stay your lane…. stop giving useless excuses,” he wrote.

Okey Bakassi is married to Ezinne and they are blessed with three children, two girls and a boy. His wife and children live in Canada.

In a recent chat with Punch, Okey admitted that it had not been easy staying away from his family. He said, “The reason I do a tour in Canada is to be close to my wife and kids since they live there. Of course, my family wants me to be with them every day and they always express that. But they also understand that I need to focus on the demands of my job. Do not forget that they come to Nigeria as well; I don’t announce it whenever they visit.”
