Ogun govt website hacked

Dapo Abiodun

The website of Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun has been hacked.

The site www.ogunstate.gov.ng as of Wednesday showed it had been taken over by a hacker named Aliester Crowley.

“Hacked by Aliester Crowley. Update your security. Greetings from Maldives,” the website homepage read as of the time of filing this report.

The website also struggled to load fully when tried multiple times.

PUNCH newspapers, which first noticed the development, contacted Ogun State Government’s secretary Tokunbo Talabi.

“I am not aware but I will inform the ICT head,” Talabi said.

Last month, the Twitter account of chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa was hacked again.

A statement by the commission’s spokesman Abdur-Rahman Balogun alerted members of the public to the situation.

“This is to inform members of the public that the Twitter Account of Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, NIDCOM, has been hacked by some unscrupulous elements.

“Please kindly disregard any message from the account as the obvious aim of the hackers is to spread falsehood and fake news in the name of Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

“Members of the public are hereby advised to ignore any message from the twitter handle @Abike Dabiri-Erewa until normalcy is hopefully restored,” the statement said.
