Ogun APC chairman’s wife dies in auto crash

Racheal, wife of Ogun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Roqeeb Adeniji, on Tuesday died in an auto crash.

The 58-year-old was returning to Abeokuta after attending Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s assessment tour to Ifo Local Government.

She was said to have died after the driver of the Toyota car she was travelling in lost control and the car somersaulted around Akinale, in Ewekoro Local Government of the state.

Her corpse has been deposited at the State Hospital, Ijaiye in Abeokuta.

One of the deceased’s children, Bolaji, confirmed the death of his mother, saying, “God knows best.She has only gone to where she came from.”

The late Adeniji, a deaconess, until her death, was a constant figure in Amosun’s assessment tour which began three weeks ago.

Her husband was among those that gave goodwill messages on Tuesday at Ifo Local Government.

The deceased, according to a report in PM News, was among those listed to address the people todayin Ado Odo/Ota which is her husband’s constituency.

It was earlier speculated that Amosun might shift the planned tour out of respect for her but the governor and his convoy were seen leaving the Oke Mosan secretariat in Abeokuta for Ota at exactly 11:40am.

The remains of the deceased, according to family sources,will be buried in two weeks.

She is survived by her husband and four children.
