Odion IghaloNigeria international forward, Odion Ighalo, has agreed to a new contract with Watford that will keep him at Vicarage Road until 2020, the Premier League club have confirmed.

Ighalo initially arrived at Watford on loan from La Liga side, Granada, at the start of last season, a move that was made permanent three months into the campaign.

He was snubbed by Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania, but the tactician however insisted “he is in my plans”.

The 25-year-old has scored 21 goals in 42 appearances for Watford – 13 of those coming in just nine games at the start of 2015.

He opened his Premier League account on his top flight debut with the Hornets’ second goal in a 2-2 draw at Everton on the opening day of 2015/16 season.

“Scoring my first Premier League goal was one of the moments I had waited for all my life,” he told BBC Sports afterwards.
