Socialite Obi Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana on Saturday met Ekuma Jeremiah, the Lagos hawker seen in a viral video giving out money to inmates in a correctional service van in Ajah, Lagos.

The businessman presented a letter of scholarship to Mr Ekuma.

Obi Cubana also disclosed in a post to Instagram that a Canada-based couple identified as Mr and Mrs Afuah will be giving Ekuma N100,000 every month till he finishes his education.

Ekuma, carrying a crate of bottled water on his head, had appeared in a video handing out money to inmates being driven in a correctional van.

Media personality Daddy Freeze found Ekuma and set up a meeting with Obi Cubana.

“And God has remembered Jerry!! @jerryluck_ God used Rocky @rockyemmyphotography to make that video! And God used @daddyfreeze to connect me and Jerry!” Obi Cubana wrote on Instagram.

“He has collected his letter of scholarship from Cubana Group! Thank God for His uncommon Grace! Mr & Mrs Afuah @iam_hymans who are based in Canada, we ran into ourselves last night at Cubana Lagos, and he introduced himself and said he wanted to reach out to Jerry.

“We all met this afternoon here in lagos. He has promised Jerry (and started paying immediately) a salary of 100k monthly from today till he is done with school!”

Obi Cubana encouraged his followers to continue being generous and be assured God will remember them someday.
