Obaseki’s critics plotting state of emergency – Edo

Godwin Obaseki

Edo State Government has alleged that explosion at the residences of some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were plots to seek a declaration of a state of emergency by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Paul Ohonbamu, alleged on Wednesday that the chieftains resorted to the use of explosives after failing to get the House of Assembly to remove Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Mr Ohonbamu said the explosions were planned by members of the Edo Peoples Movement.

An explosive device went off on Tuesday at the home of factional secretary of the APC in the state, Lawrence Okah.

Mr Okah is loyal to the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, who has been in a long-standing battle with Mr Obaseki.
