The Lagos State Police Command has said that it won’t allow a protest scheduled for Monday, February 6 at the National Stadium to go ahead.

Pop musician, 2face Idibia, is the major driver of the planed demonstration.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said that intelligence reports indicate that criminals have planned to hijack the process.

“Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. And as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos.

“We know that 2face does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand,” the police chief said.

According to Owoseni, no matter how good such intention is, hoodlums would find a way to harass, rob and attack innocent members of the public, who may wish to go about their lawful duty.

The police commissioner had said on Monday while parading the publisher of Biafra Times before the press that they were aware of 2face’s planned protest and would do everything to make sure it does not go out of hand.
