Recently married Nollywood star actor, Kalu Ikeagwu, was picked up by security agents in front of his house in the Ogba area of Lagos on Monday over a robbery and murder case, according to a report by Encomium.ng.

According to sources, the actor who married got married to Ijeoma Eze in June was picked up at about 3:40pm.

The celebrity magazine had earlier reported that Crisis in Paradise actor was abducted by unknown gunmen.

His worried family and neighbours had initially raised an alarm that he was kidnapped but he returned home to his Gbagba Crescent flat, off College Road, around 8:30 pm, with the explanation that his personal assistant bought a stolen phone from Computer Village in Ikeja, and the thieves reportedly killed a victim of the robbery.

“He told neighbours that the crime happened in Abuja, and the phone was traced to Lagos by the security agents who later came for him since his address and name were used during the purchase,” Encomium.ng wrote.

One of the neighbours told the magazine that the actor was arrested after he dropped his stepdaughter at home from school. He had parked his car at the gate, dropped the girl with her mother as if he was on his way out again.

He was said to have received a call from one of the operatives who had been waiting for him. And as soon as he stepped out of the gate, he was asked if indeed he was Kalu Ikeagwu, and he confirmed his identity.

He was politely invited, but was about arguing with them when they brought out their guns. Neighbours, who had tried to step in, stood back as soon as they saw the guns. He was ferried away in a bus.

There was a mini thanksgiving when he returned home unhurt after he was grilled by security agents.
