No promise was kept, Delta schoolgirl Success Adegor says in new video

Delta schoolgirl Success Adegor who appeared in a viral video last year after being sent out of school for non-payment of examination fee of N15,000 has claimed that all the promises made to her family had not been kept.

Ms Adegor got nationwide attention after the 2019 video, with celebrities and the state government promising to swing into action.

Success was also said to have been given N5 million in intervention funds from various donors.

However, in a video which surfaced on social media recently, the schoolgirl said she was only given scholarship from primary four to six.

“No. Everything na fake. Everything wey dem say dem don give ds wan and dat wan na fake,” she said in Pidgin English.

“Dem just come our house promise heaven and earth say dem go buy us ds wan, dem do fly us go Abuja, America, dem post am for Facebook make everybody think say e don reach.”

When asked if her father was really given a job, she said: “Dem no give my daddy any job. I still be Okada man pikin wey I be.”

She added that the job which was given to her mother had not been made official.
