NNPC names Andy Odeh, Morenike Adewunmi communications, relations chiefs

Andy Odeh NNPC Chief Corporate Communications Officer

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has appointed Andy Odeh as chief corporate communications officer and Morenike Adewunmi as chief relations officer.

According to a statement issued by the company on Tuesday, Odeh brings over 30 years of experience in communications and business administration across the oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting sectors.

Before joining NNPC, he spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he held leadership roles in community relations, corporate communications, public affairs, and government relations. He later became general manager of external relations and sustainable development.

At NLNG, Odeh managed major rebranding efforts, coordinated micro-credit schemes for host communities, and helped institute the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Morenike Adewunmi NNPC chief relations officer

Mrs Adewunmi, a legal professional with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, joins NNPC with expertise in stakeholder management and advocacy. She spent much of her career with the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she worked as regulatory affairs manager and later as government relations manager, liaising with the Presidency, ministries, departments, and agencies.

NNPC described her as a subject matter expert on non-technical risks with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. She holds a law degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University and was called to the Nigerian Bar after attending the Nigerian Law School.

The company said the appointments reflect its commitment to strengthening communication and engagement with stakeholders.
