Zarah Kyari daughter of the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mele Kyari has authored a book titled Dear.

The 15-year-old is a student of the International Centre for Islamic Culture and Education (ICICE).

The proud father shared a video on Twitter over the weekend at the book launch.

“My ‘little mother- mamah’ wrote a book ..Dear…highlighting and recognizing the privilege of parental care and support. Grateful to Allah for the gift and looking forward to more writings from Zarah Mele Kyari now 15,” he wrote.

Other books launched on the same day include Young Dreams by Zara Ahmad and Willing by Umar Gwadabe, all ICICE students.

Mr Kyari said at the launch that although his child could not speak confidently in public, he noticed her mastery of English was beyond his, adding that he wishes her more achievements in the literary world.

Zarah, an SS3 student of the ICICE, said on the sidelines of the book launch that she is inspired to write books that can transform the lives of individuals around her.

She described Dear as a fiction-literature that mirrors the struggles of a Nigerian teenager who grew up with a single parent and was faced with responsibilities beyond her age, but who succeeded despite different hurdles.

“For me, I find it easier to express myself through writing and I will encourage other young Nigerians to express themselves in such ways that would have lasting impact on the society,” she said.
