Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has thanked fellow actress, Ufuoma McDermott, for giving her a role in the movie, That Night, which she directed.
The 31-year-old expressed her appreciation when she shared a picture apparently taken on set on the movie on Instagram on Wednesday.
“Working with a director like @ufuomamcdermott Brings out the absolute best in you. I must say this is one of my most challenging script ever. Thank you soo much mama for believing in me with that heavy role. Fam be on the lookout for That Night** Directed by the Talented @ufuomamcdermott,” she wrote.
In a November 2019 interview with the Nation newspapers, Nkechi, who released her own movie, Torera, explained why it is important for actresses to tell their own stories themselves.
She said, “Past always wait at the future to fight back. It takes courage and understanding to withstand the test of time, when the past fight back.
“If you ask them how they made through, they will bombard your ears with stories that will dissuade you. So do yourself a favor, find a way, get it done irrespective, create your history, and then decide whether or not to tell them your own.”
