Ike Neliaku, president of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), will review the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers’ (GOCOP) forthcoming book Nigeria Media Renaissance: GOCOP Perspectives on Online Publishing on Tuesday, June 17.
The event will take place at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Continental Hotel in Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Confirming the development, GOCOP President Maureen Chigbo said the book presentation will be chaired by the minister of information and national orientation, Mohammed Malagi.
In a press statement, GOCOP’s publicity secretary Remmy Nweke said the presentation would also serve as a fundraiser for the proposed N2.3 billion GOCOP media centre.
The centre is envisioned as a multi-purpose facility that will include a secretariat, modern library and event halls.
Nweke described Dr. Neliaku as “an accomplished public relations expert, author, and public speaker,” noting that he currently serves as chairman of council for the NIPR’s FCT Chapter and previously held the role of senior special assistant to the President of Nigeria between 2010 and 2015.
GOCOP, which has 120 corporate publishers as members, is dedicated to promoting professionalism in online publishing and upholding the core values of journalism.
