Nine achievements of Jide Kosoko @62

Veteran Nigerian actor and director, Jide Kosoko, is 62-year-old today, January 12, 2016. To celebrate him, we outline nine of his achievements.

1. He began his career as a child in 1964 having featured in the television production, Makanjuola
2. He has a degree in Business Administration from the Yaba College of Technology.
3. Jide Kosoko has featured in over 100 Nollywood productions – both English and Yoruba genres.
4. He is the father to two successful actresses, Sola and Bidemi Kosoko
5. The Last Flight to Abuja star has two wives – Karimat and fellow actor, Henrietta Kosoko.
6. He has a successful art institution called the Jide Kosoko Theatre Group (JKT) an outfit that trained actors like Motunrayo Balogun, Jamiu Azeez and Anu Sosanya.
7. A movie producer in his own right, he has handled the productions of over four blockbusters including Olorire and Arewa Okunrin.
8. The actor once signed on as the brand ambassador to fruit drink company, Chivita
9. In 2012, he was chosen by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to produce a docu-drama on climate change titled Battle for life.
