Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister, Khadija Ibrahim, resigns

The minister of state for foreign affairs, Khadija Ibrahim, has resigned her position.

Mrs Ibrahim resigned to contest the February 16 House of Representatives election in her home-state of Yobe.

She is wife to a senator and former Governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba-Ibrahim.

She defeated her son-in law, Mohammed Bukar-Ibrahim, during the party primaries in Yobe in October 2018 to become the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for Damaturu/Tarmuwa/Gujba/Gulani Federal Constituency seat.
