Nigerians to pay N5,000 for replacement of National ID card — NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced a fee of N5,000 attached to the replacement of the National Identity Card payable through remita.

The NIMC announced via Twitter on Tuesday that applicants who wish to renew their cards can visit any NIMC office with the required documents to obtain their cards.

The requirements include a written application with attached proof of payment receipt made through remita, bank teller, NIN slip to be submitted at its office.

The commission also said that renewal of an expired card would cost a fee of N3,000.

The tweet also explained that the main focus of the commission was to ensure that all Nigerians are enrolled.

According to the commission, Nigerians can authenticate their National Identity Number through the NIMC verification portal.
